Are you a tobacco smoker or do you know someone that smokes? This is a guide to learning about the risks of tobacco smoking.
Smoking tobacco is one of the top addictions in the U.S. The National Center for Chronic Disease prevention and health promotion states that “An estimated, 20.9 percent of all adults (44.5 million people) smoke cigarettes in the United States.” That is a very high level of people who are addicted to nicotine. Nicotine addiction is a very serious matter especially health wise. People who are chronic smokers have a higher risk of getting lung cancer, heart problems, and other health risks.
Unfortunately now days it is really hard for a person to stop smoking especially if they started at a young age. Teenagers and young adults are very prone to being addicted to smoking tobacco. Especially since tobacco companies are still advertising like crazy to the younger crowds.
However there are also advertisements that counter those of tobacco companies. Some commercials that have been shown on television show the real facts behind smoking tobacco and the gruesome health effects that it has. Yet people still buy cigarettes even though they know the effects of them.
Nicotine addiction is very strong and for smokers to become healthy again and live longer lives they have to be able to overcome the addiction. There are many ways for people to stop smoking. One way for someone to quite smoking is to stop buying cigarettes and disassociate from people who do smoke. Other ways include 12 step programs, or using things like nicotine patches, and gum. Some people even try meditation or going cold turkey which can sometimes be very hard to do.
However the most important thing before someone can stop smoking is that they want to stop smoking and gain the courage to do so. Most people don’t want to stop, but if they have loved ones to encourage and support them to they may be able to overcome the addiction easier.
Smoking doesn’t only affect the people who use tobacco but also affects their love ones and people who they associate with. Second hand smoke also causes health problems for individuals that don’t even smoke. Just by breathing in the smoke from people who do smoke on a daily basis can be unhealthy as well. Smoke makes clothes smell bad, causes bad breath, yellow teeth, smelly hair, and an unhealthy breathing environment for others. A person who smokes is not only hurting their bodies, but also may be hurting others as well.
It may be hard to stop smoking but if you really want to there are so many ways and people who can support you. If you are thinking about smoking you should reconsider it especially if you are young. Living a long and healthy live excludes smoking and ruining your longs. If you would like to learn more about the affects of smoking there are many websites online that can help you. Just remember that smoking is not a positive thing for your body.
I ordered the starter kit for Blu cigs on Tuesday. My package arrived this morning. Everything was packaged well. The starter kit comes with one charger pack, two batteries, one atomizer, one wall charger and one USB charger. The first thing I did after removing the plastic from everything was charge the pack and the extra e-cigarette.
The Blu Cigs Pack
This is the nicest feature of this starter kit. The pack serves as both a charger and a holder for your e-cigarettes and extra nicotine cartridges. It comes in either black or white and is about the same size as my Winston Lights 100s pack. I ordered the black kit and am very pleased with the durable design and the chic look.
The cubbyholes that hold the charged battery and the extra cartridges are deep. I am confident that I can travel with my pack without worrying about everything popping loose.
One thing the manufacturer cautions is to keep the battery unscrewed inside the pack once both are fully charged. The reason for this is because the pack has a built-in safety mechanism that will drain both devices if the battery is hooked up for an extended period of time.
Blu Cigs Operators Manual
The Blu Cigs starter pack comes with a short, informative fold-up guide as well as small flyer with visual instructions. The guide contains a section on nicotine consumption, which I found the most helpful.
Assembling the Blu Cig
I had some difficulty removing the atomizer from the empty cartridge until I screwed it onto the battery. Then I was able to pull it off and attach my new cartridge. Blu Cigs has a helpful instructional video on their website.
The Nicotine Cartridges
Blu Cigs comes with 25 free cartridges in the flavor and strength that you choose. Each cartridge holds the equivalent of 150 cigarettes and in the following strengths: Full (16mg), Light (12mg), Ultra Light (8mg) and Non-nicotine (0mg). I ordered an extra multi-flavored pack so that I could try all of the flavors that Blu Cigs offers.
Smoking the Blu Cig
The first flavor I tried was the menthol. There wasn’t much vapor when I took my first drag, but the minty taste and the throat hit were fantastic.
Next, I attached the tobacco cartridge to my spare battery and took a drag. The traditional tobacco has a smooth flavor, but it definitely doesn’t taste like a Marlboro or a Winston. My husband agreed. He was able to get quite a bit of vapor from the drag that he took. So, I guess I have to practice.
Will the Blu Cigs Replace My Winstons?
I think they will. I haven’t smoked a Winston in the two hours since I opened the Blu Cigs. Every time I have a craving and the subsequent desire to go out to the garage to satisfy it, I take a puff off the Blu Cig and feel better.
What is even more encouraging was that I went out to the garage twice, while my husband smoked his cigarettes and felt no anxiety whatsoever. We’ll see how I’m feeling tomorrow.
As of right now, I’m very happy with my purchase and would recommend Blu Cigs to anyone who is looking for an alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes.
